PancakeBot Prints Flapjacks in Any Design You Want

Finally, daring dreamers have brought 3D printing to the most important material of all: pancake batter. The PancakeBot touts itself as the first pancake printer, and it was just funded three times over its goal on Kickstarter.

Users design their pancakes on included software, which can be exported to an SD card. When connected to the bot, the printer dispenses batter on a custom-designed griddle. It can even design areas of shading to get the right texture right for, say, making a Stormtrooper pancake.

PankcakeBot will carry a retail price of $299, though Kickstarter backers could still get in on the action for $149. Is this the future of breakfast? Sure, why not. … (read more)
